Echo Park Pedal Boats

I love planning dates and taking people on adventures. To explore. To eat. To experience new things. I’ve done this day date twice. Once with my love and the second time with my bff SR. Both times were a hit. I absolutely love Pasadena so I decided to start there both times. Here’s how it went:

Date with My Love

We drove to Pasadena and parked in a parking structure close to our first stop: Ramen Tatsunoya. Best Ramen we’ve ever had. After our lunch, we grabbed coffee at Intellgentsia and hopped on the MetroRail and headed to the Union Station. From the Union Station, we took an Uber to Echo Park to get a quick cardio sesh on the swan pedal boats. We rented the boats for an hour but it was hot so we lasted a solid 25-minutes before calling it quits.

From Echo Park, we took an Uber to Grand Central Market to walk around and go on Angels Flight Railway, a Los Angeles landmark since 1901. Afterwards, we walked over to The Dolly Llama because what’s a date without dessert. You can’t go wrong with waffles and ice-cream.

We ended up calling an Uber because we were too lazy to walk back to the Union Station. Back to Pasadena we went where we ended our day having dinner with family.

Date with SR

We also drove to Pasadena and our very first stop was Intellgentsia Coffee. Their iced coffee just hits different on a Saturday morning. We walked on over to Russell’s which had a very long wait time and we had to be at Echo Park by 10 a.m. so we grabbed our food to go and ate in the car. To Echo Park, we went! I’m a fan of the swan pedal boats. You get a workout in while having fun. It’s a win-win. We then drove to Angels Flight Railway and went on it twice because we had the whole thing to ourselves! We walked about a mile to SonoraTown to grab a few delicious tacos (with flour tortillas) and an iced cold Topo Chico. Afterwards, we walked back to the car and made the hour drive back home.

Two different adventures with two people I love in the books.
