Catalina Island
Catalina Island. Where these lovers went to get away from reality and to get a workout in. JP loves walking and hiking everywhere. There’s two departure points for Catalina Island: Long Beach or Newport. We went from Newport.
We decided to explore the island a bit by renting bikes and putting the pedal to the metal. We rode up to the Wrigley Memorial & Botanical Gardens. The cool thing about renting bikes is you can leave them anywhere and then go walk around. Jason planned ahead and packed us sandwiches which were amazing. So good. Sandwiches made with love. We walked up to the top and took in the view.
Before leaving back to Newport, we stopped for ice-cream at Scoops Handmade Ice-Cream. Delicious. And as always, you can’t have an adventure without caffeine. Catalina Coffee & Cookie Co. is where it’s at. Iced chai lattes fill my soul.
We decided to have dinner in Newport a quick walk away from the dock at San Shi Go. Believe me when I say it’s the best sushi we’ve ever had. We also found a Duck Donuts in Irvine! JP fell in love with Duck Donuts when we were in San Antonio, Texas and to have one so close to us now is pretty sweet.
Here’s to eating all the donuts we can.
